Travel Awards Opportunity

Travel Awards in First Nations, Inuit and/or Métis Health: Conference Presenters for the Aboriginal Nurses Association of Canada (ANAC) National Conference:

The CIHR - Institute of Aboriginal Peoples' Health (IAPH) is accepting applications from presenters at the Aboriginal Nurses Association of Canada (ANAC) National Conference entitled "Linking our Knowledge through Diverse Interests" to take place in Toronto October 25 - 27, 2010. 

Awards Available:
A limited number of awards will be granted on a competitive basis.  The maximum amount for individual awards are: $2,500 for applicants from Northern and remote areas and $1,500 for all other applicants.

Objectives:
The specific objectives of this initiative are:

  • To help off-set the costs of travel, accommodation, registration fees and other related expenses for First Nation, Métis and/or Inuit presenters to attend the ANAC National Conference (http://www.anac.on.ca/conferences.php) to be held in Toronto, Ontario October 25 - 27, 2010
  •  To facilitate the exchange of First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit health information and best practices that will benefit Aboriginal health leads, communities and/or organizations; and,  
  • To facilitate networking opportunities between First Nation, Métis and/or Inuit health professionals and community members.


Deadline:
 Applications will be accepted until August 23rd for the event.
